At the Children’s Dental Health Clinic, we believe
that dental
disease is PREVENTABLE!
Integral to our prevention strategy is a combination of
Dental Health Education specific to teaching
appropriate oral hygiene and nutrition and an emphasis on the practice of seeing
a dentist every 6 months.
To this end, in addition to working directly with the families of
Clinic patients, the CDHC works in partnership with
local community-based organizations and school districts to help reinforce good oral health practice. This includes proper
oral hygiene techniques and information about nutrition that not only promotes
healthy teeth but serves to enhance overall well-being of
children in their formative years.
Due to a generous grant from the California Endowment, we have an
Oral Health Education Center that provides children and their
families with oral health information.
