General
BASIC CARE begins with oral hygiene education, diagnosis aided by digital x-ray, hygiene, fluoride, and preventive and restorative treatments.
The General Dental Team provides treatment for patients from about eight- to18-years old. General Dentistry consists of:
- Silver fillings (amalgams)
- Tooth-colored fillings (composites)
- Preventative sealants
- Extraction of non-restorable teeth
- Root canals
- Crowns for primary and adult teeth
- Prophylaxis (scaling and polishing of teeth)
The General Dental Team often handles the many emergencies that teenagers present, e.g. a front tooth knocked out from a skateboard accident; a neglected and severely decayed/infected tooth that needs extraction; and painful, infected wisdom teeth. These examples are quite typical in our facilities. Though the teams have specific treatment focuses, they also integrate well as needed for our patients
