CDHC is a comprehensive clinic providing basic, specialty,
multi-disciplinary care, and oral hygiene education for children
from low-income families.
BASIC CARE begins with oral hygiene education, diagnosis aided by
x-ray, hygiene, fluoride, and preventive and restorative treatments.
SPECIALTY CARE is delivered primarily to pediatric patients with
medical indications that require extra measures to ensure optimal
outcome and comfort.
Some of the medical indications for Specialty Care protocol are
patients:
- under five years of age
- with numerous caries
- with special needs
- with underlying or chronic medical conditions (i.e. asthma,
sickle cell anemia, cleft palate and other cranio-facial
malformations, HIV, cancer or diabetes)
Specialty Care patients are often given IV sedation by an
Anesthesiologist and treated in our clinic or in the operating room of
Miller Children's Hospital.
Although this is a very expensive procedure, we believe in quality of
care and the patient's safety as our first consideration.
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CARE offers specialties such as:
- Orthodontia
- Endodontia
- Periodontia
- Oral Surgery
