Premier Training at the CDHC

We are an accredited premier training facility for multi-dental specialties through our various partnerships.

The Pediatric Dental Residency Program works in partnership with the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. Residents are on-call 24/7 at the Emergency Room of Miller Children’s Hospital, and are members of the Stramski Center’s Cranio-Facial/Cleft Palate Teams, and the Hematology/Oncology Teams (which includes Oncology, Sickle Cell, Hemophilia, Stroke and Neurology Clinics).

Full-time Pediatric Dental Residents are trained to provide treatment using all levels of Sedation, including treatment under General Anesthesia in the hospital Operating Room. Residents are supervised by a CDHC Pediatric Dentist, who also holds a teaching position at the USC School of Dentistry.
LA County/USC General Dentistry Residents provide dental treatment for patients generally over 7 years old. Residents are supervised by a CDHC/USC Attending General Dentist.

LA County/USC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residents provide complex dental extractions (including wisdom teeth), perform biopsies and aid in the identification of cancerous lesions. Dental Surgeons also work with our Orthodontics Clinic to capture and guide wayward teeth throughout the comprehensive dental treatment plan.  With the supervision of a USC/CDHC Attending Oral Surgeon, Oral Surgery Residents facilitate timely access to specialty care at the CDHC.

We are the Dental Hygiene Clinical Rotation site for Cerritos College and West Coast University. In addition, our Dental Assistant Internship Training Program, in partnership with Cerritos College and the Downey Adult School, also provides premier training and exposes students to all areas of dental specialties in a community Clinic.

We Believe that Every Child Deserves to Smile!

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, where donations help provide multi-specialty dental services to children and young adults of our community. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today! Thank You!
